A Little History Lesson…
When Raymond was in his twenties, he was working at a grocery store. He never dreamed of owning a car audio shop. When he was 24, he received some money for his birthday. He decided to purchase some stereo equipment. Car audio then became a hobby of his. He grew to enjoy it more and more. A few years later, Raymond found himself opening a shop, which we know as California Car Sounds & Tint.
Growing up, Raymond was surrounded by family members who were also business owners. As a child, he would go visit his grandparents on their farm every summer. They worked long, hard days. They were outside from 6am to 5pm. He watched his grandparents run a successful farm and the hard work that went into it. From an early age, this devoted work ethic was instilled into Raymond. He has been the driving force behind California Car Sounds & Tint for the last 27 years.
Small Beginnings & Fast Growth
When California Car Sounds & Tint opened their doors in 1990, they had just a 1,200 square foot warehouse with a small front room. For the first four years, it was just Raymond running the store, doing all of the sales and the installations. Back then, their most popular categories were car audio upgrades and security systems. In 1993, their first car dealership account was established. They have been growing ever since. Today, many local car dealerships rely on California Car Sounds & Tint for their upgrades.
After seeing steady growth, in 2007 the shop moved to a larger location. This provided California Car Souds & Tint with a 2,400 square foot warehouse, install bays and a showroom. Additional employees were added to the team and the store’s reputation continued to grow.
California Car Sounds & Tint Expands Again
In 2014 it was time for another upgrade! The store moved to their current location, providing them with more room to expand once again. Now, they have 5,600 sq. feet of space, more than they have ever had before. Currently seven people are employed, including a window tinter that was hired three years ago after adding window tint to their list of services provided. In fact, one of their employees has been there for 22 years. They work as a team, and it shows in the employee’s attitudes and their clients’ satisfaction.
The success of California Car Sounds & Tint is evident. Nowadays, grandchildren of their very first customers are coming in to purchase upgrades for their vehicles! One fascinating fact is that up until this year, California Car Sounds & Tint never advertised or had an online presence. All of their business had come from word of mouth. That alone says a great deal about this company. Their customers are loyal because of the superior work and stellar service they are given.
