The owner of this cool 2016 Taizhou scooter came to California Car Sounds and Tint to ask about installing an audio system. He wanted to be able to listen to music from his smartphone while scooting around town. We had a good look at the scooter and designed a compact and efficient sound system for the client. He loved the plan and gave us the go-ahead to get started.
The system is based around a JL Audio MBT-CRX Bluetooth Audio streaming controller. The controller feeds audio to a four-channel JL Audio MX280/4 amplifier that we installed in the storage compartment under the seat. The amplifier is configured in two-channel mode to provide up to 140 watts to each of the pair of JL Audio MX650-CCX-SG-CR speakers we mounted in the front fairing. The chrome grilles of the speakers pick up on the scooter’s chrome accents perfectly.
The client was thrilled with how the system sounds. It is easy to control, and plays nice and loud.
