A client from San Jose brought his 1998 Chevrolet Corvette to California Car Sounds and Tint to have his door speakers replaced because the coaxial speakers were blown. We showed him a set of Illusion Audio Carbon Series C8 components that would fit nicely into his doors. After having a demonstration and explanation of the installation process, the client gave us the go-ahead to get started.
Our fabrication team created a set of mounting adapters for the new 8-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter. We applied a layer of Blackhole Foil sound-damping material to the door skin before installing the adapters and new speakers.
With everything in place, we fine-tuned the adjustments on the amplifier to ensure the new speakers would get a clean signal and perform reliably.
The client was impressed with how much better these new Illusion speakers sound compared to what he had before. Bass output improved dramatically, thanks to the larger speaker size and the design of the Illusions provides excellent clarity and detail.
