A Mountainview, CA, client was referred to us by his dealership to get an Apple CarPlay and backup camera upgrade for his 2006 Bentley Continental. Apple CarPlay technology brings navigation, music streaming and hands-free calling to the dashboard in an easy-to-use interface. In the end, we brought this car into the 21st century with this addition.
A large sedan like this presents a problem when backing into parking spots or a garage, so we added a camera above the license plate with a wide view to prevent accidental bumps. We used a NAV-TV KIT783 installation kit and integration module to maintain all the factory HAVC controls. This kit also provided a beautiful mount for the new Pioneer AVIC-7201NEX radio to sit in. The NAV-TV piece allows it to operate seamlessly in the car, and triggers the backup camera to show on the screen when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
